Chapter
10
As Justin slept, a sharp pain shot through his head as he tossed and turned.
His head was flooded with bits and pieces of images and voices. He moved all over the bed until he forced his eyes open
and sat up with a jolt. He looked around but all he saw was the night that darkened the room and heard nothing. He focused
his eyes on the sleeping body next to him, unaffected from the commotion he just caused. Justin eased out of bed and
went to the living room. Stop at the front door. He stared at it for a bit, before walking to it. Afraid of what he
would see. He closed the distance and reached out to unlock the door.
It creaked a bit as he froze in place to see
if it woke up Irish. Once he knew it was safe to continue, he opened it quickly to walk into a freezing gust of wind.
The snow finally stopped for good and it melted down enough to actually walk in. Justin stepped a bare foot into the
hard snow. He felt a huge chill move up and down his body as he closed his eyes. He opened them to see that the snow was half
way up his calf. He stepped his foot back inside and leaned against the door frame and felt a tear drop.
What he
feared came true. He knew the moment Irish found out she would want to take him back to his life of before. She was just
that kind of person. He knew she would sacrifice what they have had these past weeks, so the family and friends he left
behind would have their Justin back. Back safe and sound. He sadly closed the door back and began locking it as he dreaded what
would happen in the morning.
~At the lodge~ JC woke up to his room phone ringing. He felt for the lamp switch in the
darkness and answered it on the fifth ring. "Hello?" He mumbled. "Mr. Chasez, this is Mark Peterson, from Rescue Patrol.
I have received confirmation that the blizzard as stopped and the snow has melted enough for us to search for Mr. Timberlake
in the morning." JC sat up quickly ."Okay. Well, be ready at 7 am. Thank you, Mr. Peterson." JC choked out as he jumped
up and ran to everyone room's to tell them the good news. All he prayed for now is that after all these weeks Justin
is alive and well.
