Chapter

The next day was a quiet one as Justin sat in the living room and looked
out the window and saw how low the snow melted. It was a few inches below the window sill. And it looked like someone could walk
through to find help. But the question was why he didn't want to. He turned on the weather radio and tried to tune out
the message that the snow will melt some more in the next three days. He changed the channel, until he found a radio
station that played classic eighties tunes. A haunting rock song called `Voices Carry' echoed words he was feeling at
that moment. He took a deep sigh and got up and went to the bed room and stood in the doorway and watched Irish sleep.
Her long dark brown hair covering her reddish-brown face. Her body stretched out trying to cover the entire bed. Justin
walked over and sat down next to her brushing the hair from near her ear and spoke a warm gush of air into her lobe. "Irish,
I know you are scared and so am I. But no matter what happens. You will always have a part of my heart." He kissed her
softly on her forehead before getting up and going in the kitchen to get a glass of water and take some aspirin. Irish
peaked from underneath her lashes and stared at the doorway. She blinked a few times before turning to face the wall and silently
shed all the tears her eyes would allow.
~later that day~ Justin stretch as he saw the clock on the wall showed
how long he watched the little part of the world outside. He started to worry that Irish hadn't gotten up yet. He walked
back to check on her and saw her back facing him and the sound of her deep breathing. He sighed softly and went to the
bathroom and changed the dressing on his wounds and the band-aids that needed it also. Once he was finished, he decided
to go to bed . It was too quiet and dull. He was going wake up Irish and ask her to keep him company again, but after
yesterday's flash she became distant and silent. He slid in bed next to her and slid an arm around her waist , pulling
her limp body to his. He laid there letting her soft snoring lull him to sleep.
